Before you start a mindfulness course or attend mindfulness coaching, study coaching or Reiki sessions with me, we’ll discuss your needs and circumstances to discover what’s best for you and whether it’s appropriate for us to work together.
In the meantime, please read the following advice — you’ll be asked to sign a consent form before your first session to show you’ve read and understood this.
Mindfulness courses and coaching
The Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC), the Compassion Based Living Course (CBLC) and the personalised 1-to-1 mindfulness courses I offer are designed to help you relieve stress and anxiety and encourage well-being. They are not intended to be a treatment for mental health problems.
If you’ve recently received or are currently receiving treatment from a psychiatrist, psychotherapist or counsellor for an ongoing mental health problem, you are strongly advised to obtain approval from your mental health professional before proceeding with mindfulness coaching sessions or training.
If you’re currently taking medication for a mental health problem, do not change your medication, other than in close collaboration with your medication prescriber.
Also, if you have recently experienced or are currently going through a traumatic life event, such as a separation from a long-term partner, the death of a close family member or friend, or redundancy, this may not be the right time for you to start to develop a mindfulness practice. However, this very much depends on your current psychological health and the support networks that you have around you, such as friends, family and mental health professionals. You can talk this through with me before booking your course or personalised mindfulness coaching.
Mindful Reiki sessions
Reiki is a gentle, healing sharing of the energy and essential life force that flows through all things. It can complement but does not replace or interfere with treatments from medical professionals. Reiki treatments are not a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis or treatment.
If you’re currently taking any medication, do not change it, other than in close collaboration with your medication prescriber.
In advance of your first Reiki session, I’ll provide guidelines for receiving Reiki along with your consent form for signature.
Mindfulness courses, mindfulness coaching and mindful mentoring
Once you have made a commitment to attend a mindfulness course or I have started to prepare a customised course specifically for you, the full fee is payable in advance of your first session.
There are a number of bursaries available annually for people who would otherwise have difficulty with the full Mindfulness for life programme fees. Payment plans can also be discussed. Please get in touch to find out more.
You can pay for your Reiki session on the day of your appointment.
If you can’t make a pre-arranged session or course, I will do my best to offer you alternative dates and times. In the unlikely event that we cannot agree mutually convenient alternative dates, any fees paid in advance are non-refundable.
